Within the project CIRCLE, on 9th and 10th of June 2022 RDA Banat organized CIRCLab Camp in the City of Zrenjanin – Serbia. The main objectives of CIRCLab Camp Zrenjanin were to present results of the CIRCLE project, to promote urban labs and the circular approach to waste management (Electrical and Electronic equipment Waste – WEEE), to present good practice example of the waste management, to improve knowledge of CIRCLab participants, to initiate exchange of experience and ideas among participants and to raise awareness among different target groups, with special focus on school children.

The event is organized with support of the city administration of the City of Zrenjanin, with the presence of the Mayor of the City of Zrenjanin, director of the public waste utility company, other stakeholders and CIRCLab community members, but also other project partners from Bosna and Hercegovina and Croatia. The first day was dedicated to the presentations and workshops, with the main topic of establishment innovative urban waste management model (on the circular economy principles), waste issues in urban areas and possible solutions, as well as to the importance of a systematic approach to waste management for the local community.

The second day had two parts. First dedicated to the presentation of good practices in circular economy in the region, and the second part dedicated to public classes for elementary school children, considering that three elementary schools from the City of Zrenjanin were involved in the WEEE Pilot action organized in previous period in the City of Zrenjanin, when more than 5 tons of WEEE were collected.
