Greek Minister of Environment and Energy visited Institute AEIPLOUS

The Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Konstantinos Skrekas on 19/07/2022 visited the companies and institutes hosted at Patras Science Park. Prof. Vagelis Papadakis, local project manager of CIRCLE project, informed the Minister about the project and its activities, while the Minister showed particular interest in the CIRCLab of Western Greece and the initiatives fostering Circlular Economy promoted by the Institute AEIPLOUS and the cross border collaboration.

Interesting and very important conclusions from the two-days Workshop of the project “Circular Innovation and Resilient City Labs in the Adrion Region”

Very successful and interesting was the two-days workshop organized in Patras and Agrinio on 20th and 21st of December 2021, within the frames of the project CIRCLE - Circular Innovation and Resilient City Labs in the Adrion Region regarding the progress of the circular economy laboratory "Circlab" in Western Greece, with the participation of experts from companies, the university community, representatives from institutions and researchers, either with physical presence or via video conference.

CIRCLab Camp on Circular Economy and Industrial Symbiosis

The first CIRCLab Camp, in the context of CIRCLE project, was organised by ANATOLIKI SA Organisation for Local Development on Thursday and Friday 9 and 10 December 2021 in Thessaloniki. The main aim of this event was the identification of good practices on circular economy and industrial symbiosis as well as the promotion of cooperation among local authorities, market and scientific centres for waste management.

2nd Stakeholder meeting for the CIRCLab of Western Greece

On Thursday, 20th May, 2021, within the frames of project “Circular Innovation and Resilient City Labs in the Adrion Region-CIRCLE” under INTERREG ADRION Program (European Regional Development Funds, ERDF: 85% and National Resources 15%), was organized by Institute AEIPLOUS the 2nd online stakeholder group meeting of the CIRCLab Western Greece. Following the 1st teleconference, the stakeholders focused this time on the analysis of the ways in order to apply circular economy principles in the Management of Construction and Demolition Waste (C&D Waste).

1st General Stakeholder meeting for the CIRCLab of Western Greece

On Thursday, December 10, 2020, the first stakeholders' teleconference of the CIRCLab of Western Greece was held. Stakeholders from regional and local authorities, companies, the University of Patras but also citizens discussed and analyzed the needs of the region of Western Greece in terms of waste management produced in urban areas.
